School Quality Circles

At Al-Asr Schools, we firmly believe that every student should have a voice in shaping their learning environment. Our School Quality Circles (SQC) are designed to empower students by actively involving them in discussions that matter. These structured meetings give students a platform to express their opinions, suggest improvements, and engage in collaborative decision-making.

The Quality Circles include students from Class One onward, ensuring that even our youngest learners feel seen and heard. Through this initiative, we foster leadership, critical thinking, and mutual respect among peers. It not only builds confidence but also promotes a sense of responsibility, encouraging students to contribute positively to their school community.

Why have a School Quality Circle?

How does the Quality Circle work?

Each School Quality Circle is led by a trained teacher who acts as a facilitator, ensuring that every meeting runs smoothly and respectfully. These meetings are held monthly and follow a structured format where students gather in a safe, inclusive space to openly communicate their ideas, concerns, and suggestions related to school life.

During the sessions, children are encouraged to actively listen to one another, ask thoughtful questions, and build on each other’s ideas. This practice not only strengthens communication and interpersonal skills but also nurtures a culture of empathy, mutual respect, and problem-solving — essential traits for well-rounded personal development.

Fee Policy

We do not charge for any of the resources or books that we use, however, from time to time there are additional charges where we require a contribution. Examples are:

Discipline Policy

A Discipline Policy or Code of Conduct that clearly states how learners and staff should behave characterizes the effective school. Discipline means changing the behavior of the child to be able to accept and subject herself to accepted school norms. The school’s Code of Conduct affects learners, teachers, other staff members, and parents. It is thus vital that when a new policy is formulated, or an existing one is undergoing revision, this school community should be involved.

The Code of Conduct recognizes the rights and responsibilities of learners, teachers, principals, staff, and parents. Moreover, management of discipline in school is one of the key managerial responsibilities of the school principal.

Discipline Expectations from Students

Students at Al-Asr Schools are expected to strictly follow the school’s code of conduct or discipline code. Any behavior that contravenes the Discipline Code will result in the form of corrective actions. The following are some examples of inappropriate behavior or misconduct; students are strictly advised to avoid them:

Anti Bullying Policy

At Al-Asr, such behavior is totally unacceptable. If you believe your child is in any way suffering from such actions, you should inform the school immediately. We will listen carefully to any issues brought to us and act to stop any such behavior. We never underestimate the seriousness of bullying and the negative effects it can have.

Homework Policy

At Al-Asr Schools, homework is intended to encourage children to practice specific skills, to reinforce acquired knowledge, to encourage discovery of information that may stimulate or enhance work in school and to help children develop the skills and attitudes required for successful independent learning.

Homework is given to all students with a specific timetable provided to the parents at the start of each school term. A variety of ideas have been incorporated in homework policy in order to make it interesting and joyful activity for the students.

Security Policy

The school management is accountable for ensuring that effective child protection policies and procedures are in place in accordance with guidance issued by the Government. A Safeguarding Children Report is provided annually by the Head teacher to all stakeholders.
